COURSE DETAILS:

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a subtle yet deep hands on approach based on osteopathic philosophy and study which believes that all aspects of our body have inherent motion. Cranial Sacral Therapy can be a way to tune into the status of the nervous system and highlight resources and primary restrictions which facilitates the body to ‘remember’ it’s innate ability to release and find balance.

The anatomy that will be focused on in this workshop are the bones of the cranium, sacrum and pelvis, the dural membranes of the brain and spinal dura, the cerebrospinal fluid and the primary fascial diaphragms.

There will be opportunity to explore the rhythms of each of these areas through listening, palpation and experiencing the dance in your own body. The intention is by the end of the three days you will have understanding and tools to offer a basic cranial sacral therapy session and develop trust in your gifts of attunement in knowing your next steps and pace required.

Who Should Attend?

  • The main prerequisite is an ability to be present with yourself and to the person you are offering to.

  • If you are already practicing in the physical sciences, cranial sacral therapy will deepen your experiential anatomy, hone your assessment skills and is easily integrated into many models of bodywork.

  • Energy workers and counsellors will find cranial sacral therapy a wonderful to invite clients to to integrate their energetic and emotional experience with the wisdom and groundedness of the body.

  • For those simply curious and drawn to learn about cranial sacral therapy it can heighten your own internal body awareness and self-corrective abilities. It can also be a way you can offer family and friends support when they are stressed or in discomfort.
